Our Employees
Following is a description some of our employees and the experience they bring to the company.
JR is the founder and President of AirTek, Inc. He brings
over 28 years experience in the utility, chemical,
petrochemical, and pulp & paper industries. His experience
includes the operation, design, maintenance and construction
of a variety of air pollution control and boiler systems.
JR also serves as Manager of Projects and Senior Consultant
on ESP technology. His project experience includes all
aspects of air pollution control such as field service,
construction management, permitting, and ESP applications. In addition to performance design, detailed design retrofitting,
and equipment specifications.
Barry is the Vice President of Operations at AirTek, Inc. He brings over 18 years experience with air pollution control systems and equipments, including design, application, and field service activities. He also serves as Manager of Customer Services and Spare Parts Sales where he is responsible for all pre-contract activities including sales and proposal development. Barry also brings expertise in rebuilding and upgrading air pollution control equipments such as precipitators, scrubbers and fabric filters in the utility, pulp and paper, steel, cement and petrochemical industries.
Lee Kallmyer is the Technical Services Manager at AirTek.
With over 35 years experience in fly ash and salt cake
air pollution control, Lee brings in-depth knowledge
of automatic voltage controllers and rapper control
systems including quality control and manufacturing
techniques. Lee has worked on a variety of air pollution
control equipment including the inspection, start-up,
testing and servicing of electrostatic precipitators,
fabric filters, dry scrubbers, and ash removal systems.
At AirTek, Lee performs and supervises electrical engineering
design activities on new construction and retrofit projects
involving extensive control retrofits or upgrades. Lee
is a valuable technical resource for project managers,
construction superintendents, and field service engineers
on electric equipment design, CAD systems, test procedures
and training programs.
Andrew Greenblatt (Andy)
Andy is the Field Engineering Manager at AirTek. He brings
over 20 years experience with air pollution control systems
and equipment, including design, application, field service,
project commissioning and sales. Andy brings expertise
in rebuilding and upgrading air pollution control equipment,
with particular focus on a diverse range of electrostatic
precipitators. He has worked on projects involving wet
and dry precipitators, scrubbers, fabric filters, selective
catalytic reactors, anhydrous ammonia supply equipment,
and wet and dry FGD applications in the utility, pulp
and paper, industrial, and petrochemical industries. At
AirTek, Andy is responsible for training field service
engineers and for ensuring the quality of AirTek’s
field service engineering activities. He is also responsible
for performing and coordinating emergency troubleshooting.
Al is the Manager of Engineering & Projects. He brings
a total of 16 years experience with air pollution control
systems and equipment, including design, application,
field service, product development, project management
and sales. Additionally, Al has also worked on several
projects relating to scrubbers, fabric filters, and dry
FGD applications in the utility, pulp and paper, steel,
cement, mineral, chemical and petrochemical industries.
At AirTek, Al is responsible for coordinating and managing
major projects and engineering activities. He brings extensive
experience with new equipment design, engineering analysis,
equipment sizing as well as with rebuilding and upgrading
air pollution control equipment, with particular focus
on electrostatic precipitators.
Derek Wilkes, P.E.
Derek is the Proposal Manager and Senior Applications Engineer
at AirTek Inc. He has worked extensively with electrostatic
precipitator and mechanical collector applications in
the pulp and paper, steel, cement, utility, municipal
solid waste, and petrochemical industries. He has over
12 years of experience with air pollution control systems
and equipment including applications, electrical design,
and field service engineering activities. Derek brings
in-depth knowledge of automatic voltage controllers
and rapper control systems, and is involved in the maintenance,
rebuilding and upgrading of air pollution control equipment,
focusing on the field service aspects. More specifically,
he is responsible for design, specification, installation,
troubleshooting, and field service engineering of precipitator
electrical systems including T/R sets, electronic controls,
rapper systems and auxiliary equipment. Derek is also
responsible for supervising electrical and mechanical
retrofit activities and training plant operations and
maintenance personnel.
Gene Schickling
Gene is the Manager of the Baltimore Office. He has over
35 years experience with air pollution control systems
and equipment including applications, new equipment,
rebuilds, and spare parts. Work experience includes
field service, contract management, and applications
engineering. He has extensive experience in rebuilding
numerous different precipitator designs in the US, Canada,
and Europe. During the past 15 years he has held management
positions in spare parts, aftermarket services, proposal
engineering, engineering of contracts for rebuilds,
and for new electrostatic precipitator and fabric filter
projects. These projects were in the pulp and paper,
steel, cement, mineral, and utility industries.
Paul Balasic, P.E.
Paul is the Manager of Power Projects. He has more than
35 years of air pollution control experience on electrostatic
precipitators, fabric filters, and flue gas scrubbing
systems. His work experience includes field service,
technical service, aftermarket service, and sales. For
the past 19 years, Paul has had business development,
marketing, product management, and program management
positions. One recent accomplishment was the development
and management of an alliance with a major utility that
provided service and maintenance on a system-wide basis.
Lew Bringman
Lew is the Process Application Specialist. He has more
than 35 years experience on electrostatic precipitators
for the industrial market. His work experience includes
designing, applications engineering, and contract administration.
For the past 25 years, Lew has been involved in the
sizing of precipitators in the pulp and paper, rock
products, chemical, steel, and mineral applications
in the domestic and international markets. These projects
have included new precipitators and upgrades of precipitators
that were US and European designs.
